My Cooking

In my own way

I am no chef. I simply love to cook, quietly and in my own way, and I like to keep a photograph of each dish before it disappears.

For me, cooking is very close to composing music. I open the fridge the way I sit at the piano: not knowing yet what will come. A few small things, a lemon, some herbs, whatever is left, begin to speak to one another, and slowly a dish finds its own melody. When it ends up tastier than anything I planned, that is the moment I cook for.

Then a bottle of wine is opened, my partner sits across the table, and we eat together. Nothing more is needed. This, to me, is the joy of life.
